Kenya definitely has a spectrum of peoples and experiences. I love Mombasa (except the humidity) and have kinda mixed feelings about Nairobi.

Lived in Kenya for four years and enjoyed it. It was between 1974-78.
The kids were small and we travelled around with them and stayed at the coast all holydays when we did not return for homeleave to Sweden.

Beautiful. The earth is the color of rust/red (deep blood color) where the coffee is grown. The most beautiful birds in the world.

Was a terrible experience!
It was unplanned transiting on my way to South Africa and everything was extremely bad. Because of mistakes from Ethiopian airlines that sucks...how they treated us at Nairobi Airport was dis-respectable and the traffic is like I've never seen anywhere else in the world!
But the hotel was ok.
And imagine the same mistake happened again on our way back to Cairo!!

It is a must destination for wildlife, food, excitement, adorable clothing and jewelry. The kids are darling and the country vast and will steal your heart.
