Mozambique

My mothers country, I lived there for almost 4 years with my family. We lived in three places: Nacala, Maputo( the capital), quileman. I made a lot of friends there! An experience of its own.

Would want to live there

Used to holiday here as a child. I saw the sea for the first time here. Mozambique had the best bubblegum, you could blow massive bubbles.

Mozambique was beautiful. We had an awesome time snorkling and laying on the beach. Vilenculos was not even remotely crowded, so it was a great time to be there. A little windy in Feb. but beautiful. Lots of places to party for the young and plenty of history for the old.

Maputo, in 2006. Nice diving, but I was in a very nasty shack at the lowest (quality) end of the beach. It was literally constructed out of sticks, and we had to bring in and cook our own food. Power was spotty, and there was no backup generator to keep the refrigerator cool. The guide killed a mamba on the path to the communal shower . . . I was very vigalant and would like to go back for diving but would research my lodging and tour provider carefully.

Only have been over the border in Mozambique ... flat country with amazing rivers originating in South Africa ... running into the Indian Ocean ...

By far the best seafood in in the world! The Indian Ocean is beautiful. Very much enjoyed my time there.

Ahh, not really a best place to live, but still good...beware of police :)
