Lived in Tien Mu, outside of Taipei & attended the Taipei American School. Started high school here but returned to the U.S.A. for 10th grade while the rest of the family finished their 2nd year there.
Some memories of Taiwan: the humidity as soon as we stepped off the plane, wonderful fresh fruit, the huge water bottle in a sling for drinking & cooking, the fire we had to build under the water heater when we wanted hot water, how to write Tien Mu in Chinese so we could take the right bus home.

Airport layovers here en route to Burma. Free internet, insanely salty noodles, ridiculous schwag, very clean bathrooms.
