Beautiful vistas, beautiful gardens, priceless art!

The View from The Getty is amazing. You park your car at the bottom of a hill in one of Los Angeles's most unique underground garages. Then you take a sleek train up the hill, marveling at the view. The architecture of this ode to Urban Banality is very disapppointing and generic. But the art often stuns as visionary and unique. I go to many of the opening photoghraphy receptions, that truly showcase world -class work.

You have to pay for parking, but it's cheap and well worth it. The art is fabulous and the Architecture is modern and clean. The views from this newest Getty Center are the best in LA. The views from the Malibu Beach location are lovely too, but mostly just of the ocean. We were here on a clear day and we could see all the way to Baldwin Hills.

A rare free treasure that could easily be a vacation in itself

Loved all of the exhibits, and the view from the museum was wonderful. I wish they'd had a hotel, I would have stayed for days.

Always liked it better than the new one.
