I was born in Portsmouth. I have also lived in New Boston, Wheelersburg, Chillicothe, Norwalk, and DeGraff. I am a small town girl. I love the hills of Portsmouth and Chillicothe. I love the people of New Boston, Chillcothe, and DeGraff. Norwalk is close to Cedar Point which was cool.

Always hated Ohio (except for Cedar Point) because you had to drive through it to get anywhere.

We cruised the Ohio River and skied and party . . . then after realizing Ohio was just across the river we just had to dock on the other side and touch the bank, so I could say I had been there.

Lived in the Akron area most of my life. First lived in Akron from the time I was three years old after moving there from Austria until my family moved to Los Angeles when i was 5, only to return to Akron when I was 7. Married the love of my life in Akron in 1977 and stayed there until we were able to finally move to Paradise (Sarasota, Fl.) in 2007

I spent a year living in Ohio as an exchange student from August 1991- July 1992. I started out in Tiffin then spent 2 weeks in Cleveland before settling in Loveland, Cincinnati. The countryside was beautiful in the more rural areas. Very different to home. My favourite season was most definitely autumn. The colours truly have to be seen to be believed. I also had the fortune to be taken to Amish country which was like stepping into a National Geographic documentary. Just amazing.
The best part about the whole experience were the people I met and ultimately became friends with. Thankfully the TV stereotype was nowhere to be found and after 17yrs I'm again in contact with the people that touched my life during a brief period but left lasting memories etched into my soul for my lifetime. Thanks to my wonderful family, the Herberts and to my school friends, some who were next to me for the whole time; Shannon, Kim, Linn. Maria, Maho, Jen and Kindra and to those I watched and admired from afar; Andee, Kevin, Shawn, Phil, Betsy, and Kelly.
I learned a lot about you and your country but more about myself as I navigated my way through my own perceptions of who I was and how I fit in to the puzzle of the world. Thank you all so much for your gifts of friendship. Our English teacher gave us each a laminated copy of some prose labeled Success. I still have mine and going by what those words of wisdom proclaim; You have each succeeded in changing the world for one person - me. That makes you all a success. Thank you.
