This is a terrific opportunity to join a small, fast-moving environment! Along with our team of other highly experienced engineers, our Software Engineer will help to take WIB to the next level. You will report directly to WIB's founder and CTO, Craig Ulliott.
We are currently looking for developers in and around Chicago, although if you meet our requirements and are willing to relocate, you should definitely apply!
Responsibilities
The Web Application Engineer will assist in the development of WIB's application and stand alone site. You will spend most of your time in web application development (we use PHP for the back end) and also with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, and Javascript). You should also be prepared to delve into new and unfamiliar technologies.
Required Skills / Experience
- At least 3-4 years of previous software development experience
- Strong comprehension of web and web-related technologies
- Server-side application development in PHP
- User-side application development in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Solid knowledge of SQL
- Confident problem solver and troubleshooter
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment

Community Manager / Administrative Assistant
Description/Required Skills
This is a terrific opportunity to join a small, fast-moving environment! The Community Manager is someone who is excited about problem solving and enjoys improving client relations. You’ll need to wear many hats, so flexibility and a positive attitude are essential. In addition to being extremely friendly and helpful, you must be willing to change tasks at a moment's notice. The ideal candidate is someone who has some college education and loves traveling.
Responsibilities
- Performs assurance for Where I've Been application on social graph
- Responds to user comments, concerns, and suggestions
- Distributes user messages to corresponding WIB employee for further action
- Compiles suggestions biweekly for presentation to team at creative meeting
- Generates bug reports
- Creates reports for aspects of application on networks that received "fail" marks
- Distributes reports according to team members and network
- Posts longterm report notifications to user notification board
- Researches numerous topics
- Runs various errands
- Daily responsibilities also include blogging, posting story/question of the day
