Ten days of heaven! We stayed there for ten days celebrating my 50th and one of her birthdays (smile)! We have NEVER had a breakfast buffet that delicious! We got HOOKED on POG (passion-orange-guava juice), my wife had a different type of waffle, I had a different type of omelet, they set up our rental Jeep & our helicopter tour & our snorkeling, and had experienced masseuse in their spa!

We went just for the weekend and it just so happened to be the weekend of the Savannah Seafood Festival AND the U.S. Powerboat Races! We stayed at a BEAUTIFUL Marriott, right on the river!

Me, Lynette, Taylor, Shea, and two kittens got separated at the GA-SC border while moving from GA to MD in separate vehicles during a "monster" rainstorm. We re-united, thanks to a truck driver & a friendly store owner, then drove to Spartansburg, where we got a room, ate dinner at a 'Steak & Ale', and "crashed" for the night.

It was a quick, holiday trip to visit a teammates family. We at our asses off and everyone was friendly!

I spent a lot of young adult life in Laurel. I enjoyed the convenience of its proximity to College Park, Baltimore, Annapolis, Fredrick, & Ocean City, MD and to Washington, DC. I loved the family atmosphere of Laurel's Maryland City at the time I lived in that neighborhood.

Bobby Clark reviewed San Angelo   about 4 months and 1 week ago
I judged San Angelo very, very harshly when I was there, primarily because I was young and it was SO different from the Shenandoah Valley area of northern Virginia where I was born. San Angelo's landscape was flat, brown, and very, very hot . . . definitely NOT the rolling, green hills and valley complete with four seasons that I was used to. I learned a lot about myself during my first time there (for five months), got my first drivers license, and bought my first car there. I learned about flash flooding, hailstorms, and that the desert can be beautiful.

I entered the military at Lackland AFB, but didn't get to see San Antonio until I married my first wife years later. She was stationed there & I went to school at San Antonio College on San Pedro Ave.. We lived in (what was then) a new apartment complex off of Marbach and had a pretty good time! I learned to love and appreciate the Mexican culture, partly due to the fact that my first wife was a Spanish linguist and the rest to my love of tequila. : )

I stayed on Harry St. with my father's sister the first few summers after my parents separated. I LOVED it! It's where my connection to my father's family was strengthened. I enjoyed everything from hanging out with my cousins to playing basketball on the red clay dirt court to "skinny-dipping" in Grants Creek on brutally hot days!

I didn't fully appreciate Washington, DC until I entered the military, traveled to other parts of the world, and came back to Washington. Now, there is NO other city I LOVE as much as Washington! From it's world-class, mass transportation system . . . to the Smithsonian Museums . . . to the 'food, folks, & fun' . . . to the monuments . . . to the local-regional-international mixture of cultures . . . there is NO other city on Earth like Washington, DC!
